Security and privacy are essential to any business transaction, and Fleet is committed to providing PayMode® users with a secure transaction environment at the forefront of best commercial practices.

For a more detailed look at PayMode’s multiple levels of security, download our Security backgrounder in pdf format (Adobe Acrobat Reader required).

PayMode security features include:
Multi-layered safeguards for exceptional transaction control, integrity and confidentiality.
A choice of "security strengths" to meet a wide range of risk profiles.
Tamper-proof Authorization and Authentication features, so each transaction is authorized and completed exactly as intended, helping to prevent fraud and repudiation.

This uncompromising technical and operational security solution was developed to meet the critical demands of business today, providing users with an electronic transaction environment they can trust.

Multiple layers of security.
PayMode is safeguarded by several layers of security:
Securing the system: Access control allows only authorized individuals to see information and take actions.
Securing communications: Confidentiality is enforced via Internet-standard SSL technology.
Securing transactions: "Triple-locked" protection and 1024-bit digital signatures, along with member-specified transaction limits and multi-party controls, so that every payment is authorized, authenticated, documented…and tamper-proof.

Advanced, effective technologies.
To allow only online transactions that are fully authorized and authenticated, wholly confidential, and transmitted exactly as intended, several interwoven security technologies are employed.
Triple-locked transaction protection:
– Password-protected access
– Encrypted keystores to lock the digital signature keys
– Tamper-proof digital signatures for integrity, controlling precisely what is disbursed.
Payment instruction is transmitted as a digitally signed XML document.
To double-check that the instruction is properly signed, digital certificates are used to authenticate the digital signature.
PayMode digital signature keys are 1024-bit strong, making it virtually impossible to forge or alter an instruction.
Company profiles are maintained to provide clear records of authority, allowing transactions to be originated only by authorized individuals against authorized accounts.
Multi-party controls can be built into a company’s profile, adding an additional layer of security when required — one party may authorize a payment while another party is responsible for signing it.
Transactions can be protected with member-specified transaction limits, to further prevent fraud and unauthorized use.

A commitment to the future.
Fleet's goal is to continually support and enhance the electronic payment process with better security and controls, while giving users a range of choices — a "sliding scale" of risk/reward options that enable them to make the most intelligent choice for their security needs.
