Getting started with PayMode® requires
a few set-up procedures to help ensure that making and
receiving payments is secure, simple and accurate. Enrollment
in PayMode
can be accomplished entirely online in about 10 minutes – just click
here.

During enrollment,
Fleet seeks certain necessary information to facilitate
the process. All requested information is input through
the PayMode secure Web site. |

Provide basic company
information, similar to the information required to open
a bank account. |

Create a PayMode
Account ID of your choosing. This will allow other
companies using PayMode to more easily identify your
company in the system. |

Select the type of PayMode
account(s) you wish to set-up in order to receive payments, send payments,
or both send and receive payments. |

Establish user access
privileges for reporting, payment activity and account
maintenance responsibilities. |

Identify a person in
your company who has legal signing authority for your
company. This individual will be responsible for signing
the PayMode Terms of Use
Agreement that
stipulates the terms of your relationship with Fleet. |
Security
PayMode Account Users with proper authority will use verified digital signatures
when signing payments. Your company’s digital signatures are provided
through Fleet's digital certificate process, a critical component
of PayMode security (see Security.)
A digital certificate represents a unique
set of encryption keys that allow PayMode users to digitally
sign and encrypt your electronic payments and remittance
information. The process helps ensure tamper-proofing, as
well as providing payment authorization, user authentication
and documentation. Your users' digital signatures can ONLY
be decrypted by Fleet. Fleet’s chosen certificate authority
for PayMode is Digital Signature Trust (DST), the leading
provider of online identification solutions, which issues
the certificates to your PayMode users (see sidebar).
Authentication:
Upon completion of these enrollment steps, Fleet initiates a process of authentication
for your company and your designated PayMode Users. This procedure is designed
to protect both you and Fleet, and serves to identify and mitigate any potential
financial and business risks.
Upon activation, your company can begin
making and receiving PayMode® payments. The entire enrollment,
digital certificate and authentication process can be completed
in 1-2 business days.
